Discovering the Ribeira Sacrá should really be made by car. Alternatively you could explore the immediate area by walking, or by mountain bike (we have 2 for hire). We have many suggested routes that can be made throughout the year. Whatever your mode of transport you can be assured that it always will be a pleasure.

You cannot fail to be amazed at the diversity of nature found on our doorstep. You can go bird watching and see things like eagles, storks, owls, or watch the pair of Kestrels flying around their nest in the local church. Wild flowers and insects prove to be of great interest too. Here you can see various species of stick insects, stag beetles and bees so black as the night and about 25 mm long! It is known as "The Carpenter Bee or "Abeja Carpintero".
Unfortunately we do not have enough space on our web site to list all of these sights, you will have to stay here and see them for yourself.

Our house, the CASA SANTO ESTEVO has been refurbished to complement it’s surroundings, which are dominated by magnificent ancient Chestnut woods that will captivate you with their ancient charms and seemly endless presence.

The house is next to the magnificent 12 th century church of Santo Estevo de Ribas de Miño. The only vestige of the old monastery that once existed here. The style of architecture is Romanesque. It was one of the first buildings in Spain to be registered as of Patrimonial Interest. It is said that Maestro Mateo, the same builder as the Portico de la Gloria in the Cathedral of Santiago De Compostela, built the façade. That is some claim to fame!
